AGM - Notice

Newsletter March 2013

Dear Residents,

There was a robbery that had happened one morning in the early hours of February 2013 in USJ 11/3B. Three men in a car waited along the road for their victim to open the door. Because of the narrowness of that road and having many cars parked alongside, visibility was limited. The armed men rushed into the house, the moment the victim opened the main gate to let his children out to board the school bus.

The Committee is now helping the victim made the necessary insurance claims. We have also done another review of the performance of the guards and had met with the security company to emphasize the need to be alert of such criminals coming into our area.  We are also looking into installing boom gates but that will mean incurring cost. A cost which we can barely afford due to the poor collection in which we are currently experiencing.  We need your help to let your neighbors know if they have not paid, please do ask them to contribute for our continued peace of mind.

We also should continue to be vigilant and take necessary precautions of our surroundings when we leave our homes. Make sure you are in your car when you open the gates at the car porch. The guards are only our first line of defense and that is not 100% full proof. Hence, do not to take things for granted and take precautions at all times. We can do our part as well by keeping a look out for your neighbors who may be away. Do notify the police/guards should you see something which warrants immediate attention.

Here is an update of what is ahead in our community:

Collection

As a reminder, the collection dates are for October 2012 to end of March 2013, a total of RM300 for six months of security services. We do welcome payment for a full year so for your family’s safety including your own and the community at large, we urge you to make the payment as soon as possible if you have not done so.

Please make payment to “Persatuan Penduduk USJ 11/3, Subang Jaya, Selangor” to your respective Street leader and be mindful to get the receipt from them. It will provide a record for both parties should situations arise when a claim from the insurance company against burglary is necessary. For your information, we have taken out a policy that covers break-ins for our members with minimal coverage as according to our affordability.

When you receive your receipt, please check to make sure all the details like name of issuer, amount, dates, etc are correct to avoid any future misunderstanding. Also, we strongly recommend you to make payment via cheque rather than cash.

If you still want to make cash payments then please do insist for a valid receipt which should be issued to you immediately.

New car stickers have been issued out by the Street Leaders. Please do request for yours if you have not done so.

Annual General Meeting

Our annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday, 23 March 2013 at 9:00 am. The tentative location is at the MPSJ Auditorium but if it is not available, the AGM will be held in any of the meeting rooms in MPSJ. We will advise you in due course.  All paying residents / members are invited to attend.

We will be reporting the audited accounts as well as the various activities that were undertaken throughout 2012. Please do attend as it will give you a chance to find out how the moneys collected from you are spent.

We will also be sharing with you some of our plans to beef up our security requirements to ensure we are pro-actively monitoring and engaging the security needs of our community.

Light refreshments will be served.

Thank you.

Youth group shows the way!

Dear Residents,

This morning, we joined a group of young children in their own initiated project to clean up our neighborhood. Some 15 people came and Navin, the group leader wasted no time in delegating the jobs to various people.

And here are some pictures taken this morning:

Navin, the leader of this Youth group. Well done, young man!

Navin doing a brief.

Listening intently.

The group who carried out this modest project. Mr. Lee and his two young daughters already left.

In life, we tend to take a lot of things for granted. We even accept the fact that having rubbish strewn around us seems 'okay'!

Well, it has taken some youth (kids) now to tell us (adults) it is not okay and that they intend to do something about it! And they are doing it...! So, what do we, as adults do? We should support their cause and try to help them in their quest as much as we can. We need to show these "youths" that we care as much as them.

And we can start by keeping our house compound including the outside clean.  We should collect all the rubbish around our house and dispose of it properly instead of just walking past it and leaving it there for someone else to pick it up. Also, we should learn to use the rubbish bins more as they are there for a purpose. We should remind our children, family members and even friends to do the same.

If you go to the USJ 11/3 padang often enough, you will see how children, teenagers and adults alike throw rubbish everywhere while ample bins are provided! It is not uncommon to see plastic bottles, paper, plastic containers and empty cigarette boxes everywhere!

So, let us all chip in and make our neighborhood clean and a nice place to live in. Let us all support the children who have shown us the way, the way that most of us have 'forgotten'!

See you all next Sunday @ 9am at the padang.

Dear Residents,

A small group of youth paid a visit to one of our Committee member this morning. Calling themselves "The Junior Youth Group" and addressed to "My Fellow Neighbor", they handed a note above reads:

'Last Sunday, we started our SERVICE PROJECT. We want to clean up USJ 11 neighborhood. It was very dirty. We saw empty cans and rubbish everywhere. So we spent 1.5 hours cleaning up the environment. We will continue to clean USJ 11. Come join us. For more information, please call 016-901 6524. Say "No" to rubbish. Say "No" to Denggi. Keep USJ 11 clean. Save the plants!'

It takes a group of youth to start the clean up in our area. They have now shown the adults what to do in our neighborhood. These galant kids must be given the necessary support. They will be doing this again this coming Sunday. Please do spare some time to help them. Please tell everyone to support their cause which in fact will bring us a cleaner and healthier environment for all of us.

Well done kids! Keep up the good work. We will support you all the way!!
